Archiving is about keeping snap-shots of important business data for long term storage and compliance reasons. A perfect compliment and destination for data purged from the Fortress Remote Backup Service (RBS) or as a stand-alone vaulting solution, clients can feel secure knowing that their data archives are being stored in a state of the art data vault in our secure Data Centre with the Fortress Remote Archive Service (RAS).

The Fortress Data Vault protects data from fire, water, electromagnetic waves, dust, humidity and other environmental risks. It carries a UL 125-1/2 hour rating by Underwriters’ Laboratories, Inc. which is the trusted source across the globe for product compliance. This rating essentially states that our vault maintains an interior temperature less than 51ºC (125ºF) and an interior relative humidity less than 80% when exposed to fire as per the Standard Time Temperature Curve for hours to 927ºC (1700ºF). It has successfully undergone all other requirements for the Fire Endurance Test, the Explosion Hazard Test, the Humidity Test, and the Fire & Impact Test (separately or combined). Basically, no small scale explosion, 30 minutes of exposure to a 1093ºC (2000ºF) fire, an immediate 30 foot drop, and a standard reheating to 843ºC (1550ºF) for 30 minutes can damage the data contained in the Fortress Data Vault. Essentially, our vault is specifically designed to promote longevity by eliminating factors that deteriorate electronic storage media.

Storing data in our secure vault is easy! Data can be automatically added as it is purged from the Fortress RBS “Hot” system and moved to our more cost effective “Cold” storage based on established retention policies or you may wish to control the contents of your archives manually through secure file transfers. Many options are available including transferring to and from hard media and complete local automation.
